As part of this project, TGH with its local partner, “La Fondation Voix Du Coeur”, continues to provide support to street girls and young girls who are victims of gender-based violence in central Damala.
In a broad sense, the project allows the center to continue to operate while improving the living conditions of the girls. It also encourages the social and professional reintegration of the girls and facilitates their family reintegration.
Implemented in the Damala center , this project covers part of the running costs of the center in terms of day-to-day management costs (staff, food, inputs, etc.). The water point in this center is contaminated by surrounding latrines. Part of the funding for this project finances its rehabilitation.
The young girls (30 girls), being left to their own devices before being taken into the center , are given training in sewing in order to prepare them for life after the center .
With the help of TGH psychosocial workers who work closely with FVDC psychosocial workers, the project enables the reintegration of some girls into their families.
This project is part of a larger project that allows for the identification and holistic care of children in situations of family and social breakdown, including girls involved in prostitution networks.
