Through various activities, TGH addresses the urgent child protection needs of displaced populations living in 3 camps, in particular children and adolescents, but also their parents.
It includes individualised management and follow-up services for children at risk, affected by the conflicts in Iraq and exposed to psychological and/or physical disorders worsened by the living conditions in the camps. In order to identify beneficiaries, TGH's teams of social workers visit all the tents one by one. The children are then taken care of and referred to specialised structures if necessary.
The mobile teams also provide psychosocial support to children in the camps by developing activities to promote well-being, personal development and self-confidence.
Finally, awareness sessions are organised with parents and adolescents on issues related to child protection, such as the importance of schooling, teen marriage, child labour, etc. Parents' participation in these activities is essential to the success of this programme.
