FUNDING
The project is implemented in partnership with the Department of Youth and Sports of Ninewa in support to the Al-Habdaa youth centre in Al-Muthana. TGH sets up an innovation lab in the youth centre where the participants will be able to complete training on life skills and citizenship education modules. Youth will have the opportunity to participate in digital and entrepreneurship skills development sessions to enhance their resilience and promote their employability skills as young social and business entrepreneurs. Furthermore, to leverage youth’s engagement in labour market, targeted young people will be provided with a service package including required skills and experience through innovation lab, receiving seed funding, as a grant, to start their social and business start-ups and getting opportunity to access internship / apprenticeship opportunities.
Secondly, TGH focuses on encouraging engagement in governance structures, helping young people to become actively involved in decision-making, to identify the issues that affect their lives and their communities and to take action to address them.
In order to increase the inclusive participation of youth in the decision-making process, TGH also supports the establishment of several platforms as a space for young people to express themselves, including a digital platform, an advisory board and a volunteer platform available to support them in their initiatives.
