FUNDING
The project focuses firstly on the rehabilitation and renovation of agricultural water access infrastructures in the villages. In order to carry out the most appropriate intervention to the context, TGH starts by carrying out a hydrogeological study of the concernedarea. This study aims to carry out an inventory of the different agricultural hydraulic systems in the area, determing their state of degradation. Then, the representatives of the local authorities, as well as the beneficiaries, choose, with TGH,which structures are the most urgent to work on, based on the study previously carried out. These structures are then rehabilitated by local companies contracted by TGH. Throughout this process, TGH ensures that national technical departments (Department of Agriculture and Department of Water Resources) are involved in the process and that their interactions with the beneficiaries are smooth.
The project also aims to ensure that returned households have access to renewed inputs for their agricultural activities.
To achieve this, the digital catalogue developed by TGH in the first phase of the project is being reused. From it, beneficiary households can choose the factors of production and inputs they want, and which are adapted to their situation. Coupons are then used to collect material from local suppliers who are partners in the project. To ensure support for livestock activities, TGH also carries out a study of epizootic diseases and of veterinary services in the area in order to support them in a way adapted to their needs. Beneficiaries also have access to trainings that accompany any provision of equipment, including short videos.
