In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and in order to prevent the spread of infection, in April 2020 TGH launches a three-month contingency project employing an innovative electronic voucher system aiming to provide rapid assistance to health care institutions and most vulnerable households along the contact line of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts of eastern Ukraine.

74 health care institutions and 5,000 people (1,300 households) benefit from the distribution of e-vouchers for essential hygiene supplies, aimed at covering their needs for three months. Overall, the project aims at ensuring the protection of more than 185,000 individuals along the contact line. The rapid assistance is made possible thanks to the 46 partner-shops involved in the project. Through the involvement of local shops, the project indirectly contributes to enhancing the local economy through the support of small and medium enterprises.
The TGH's e-voucher system, based on mobile phones and web-money, allows reaching beneficiaries in multiple areas, including in the most remote, hard-to-reach localities. Implemented in cooperation with partner-shops along the contact line, the project ensures local, rapid and adapted response to the needs of health care institutions and most vulnerable households.
