Children affected by the conflicts in Iraq are exposed to psychological and/or physical disorders, worsened by the living conditions in the camps. In order to identify high-risk cases among these children, TGH deploys teams of social workers who conduct tent by tent visits. Once identified, these children are taken care of, and referred to specialised structures when necessary.
Activities focused on promoting well-being, personal development and self-confidence are offered to children in the camps. Capacity building and resilience activities are aimed at adolescents.
Finally, the transformation of the "Child-friendly" spaces into community centres dedicated to children and adolescents, but also to their parents/guardians, supports the implementation of a community approach, while providing a meeting place for other structures. Community members will be able to strengthen their knowledge and skills in terms of child protection, and awareness-raising activities will also be implemented.
