In July 2020, Triangle Génération Humanitaire (TGH) launched phase I of an emergency response project to prevent and control COVID-19 infections in the east of Ukraine, in the oblasts of Donetsk and Luhansk, with financial support from UNICEF and USAID/BHA.

Phase II began in March 2021. The selected institutions and vulnerable households are given access to essential hygiene items via the distribution of electronic vouchers, a system used by TGH for more than six years, in partnership with a network of local partners and stores.
These vouchers can be used in over 110 partner stores, which guarantees ease of access for the beneficiaries. A home delivery service is also available to beneficiaries to limit the number of people in stores and facilitate compliance with the measures in place to stop the spread of COVID-19. Working with local stores is also a way of boosting the local economy and reinforcing social cohesion.
In total, 120 social institutions, 237 hospital and outpatient health facilities, 69 kindergartens, and 2,500 households (i.e., 6,235 people) living within a 0 - 0.5 km radius of the line of contact, benefit from this project.
